The
Scottish Mountain Photo Gallery's trip to the slopes.
Note the poise and edge control, despite increasing age and infirmity. Note also the empty slopes. Those who know the SMPG staff appreciate that we do not queue, not for tows, not for the Inn Pin, not even for petrol. (We recently drove all the way from Fort William to Broadford on empty rather than join a queue.) We seek solitude in the mountains not the companionship of a queue. However, it has to be said that the SMPG position seems to be a rather isolated minority view. On May Bank Holiday Saturday, 2002, scores of happy seekers of companionship were enjoying each other's company for 5 hours or more before they were able to start their ascent of the Inaccessible Pinnacle. Not so for the recent SMPG visit
.

Gleann Einich from the top of the LandRover track, a crazy descent wore out
our brake pads. This track was built to bypass the old track which had
land-slipped.
You
can see Glean Einich LandRover track's scar from space in the Landsat

Glen
Prossen, half way round a 36 mile route which started in Glen Isla, crossed
to Glen Prossen then up to the watershed with Glen Finlet then back down to Glen
Isla. Last two hours were off-road, in the dark with torches.
