Adam Smith Research Foundation Doctoral Scholarships

in the Faculty of Law, Business & Social Sciences

Applications are invited for these prestigious Scholarships. One PhD Scholarship will be available, covering full fees and maintenance (home/EU or Overseas), in any of the key ASRF research themes:

  • Legal and political thought
  • Macroeconomics, business and finance
  • People, places and change
  • Public policy, governance and social justice
  • Work, ethics and technology

The PhD may be held in any of the Faculty's Departments:
Accounting & Finance; Central & East European Studies; Centre for Drug Misuse Research; Economic & Social History; Economics; School of Law; Management; Politics; Sociology, Anthropology & Applied Social Sciences; Urban Studies.

How to apply

Interested applicants should make initial contact with a Department, stating they are applying for a ASRF Scholarship.

The closing date, for session 2010-11, is 10 May 2010 and the successful candidate will be notified by 30 June 2010.

Further information

All the Departments in the Faculty, where eligible, were granted Recognition in the ESRC's 2005 Exercise. ESRC Quota Awards are available from Economic & Social History, Sociology, Economics and Urban Studies, while other Departments offer their own Scholarships.
