"Take this opportunity and fight to get there. You may never again have the chance to study abroad"
Sean Suckling, NTNU, Norway (Product Design Engineering)
I wanted to study abroad because when you go to a foreign University you are immediately immersed in the culture, language and people from that country. I can’t think of a better way to so quickly integrate with the locals than studying along side them.

Three things that you have enjoyed most about your time away:
- Meeting People from all over the world.
- The snow in the winter
- The long, long summer days.
My Studies
I chose the NTNU as it is the main engineering university in Norway. Studying at NTNU
gave me extra opportunities and experiences afforded to the students in Norway.
The fact that I spent a year abroad will certainly make my CV more distinctive and hopefully attractive to employers, but more than that it provided a new way of looking at design problems. A broader set of experiences should increase your ability to deal with new things in the future
Three things that you missed most from home:
- Affordable beer
- Affordable cinemas
- Strangely enough, the accent
If you could have the whole experience again, would you change anything?
I think I would try and make more of an effort to learn the language.
