Singapore
Our first students from Singapore arrived in 1947 to study Medicine and Science. Since then many Singaporean students have come to the University and studied a range of subjects including Aerospace Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Biomedical Sciences. The university has a Singapore Student Society and there are currently around 50 students from Singapore studying at Glasgow.
Glasgow is a multi-cultural city with a large Chinese population. Chinese students will also find local provisions good with access to Chinese supermarkets and traditional Chinese medicine stores in the city. There is also a Glasgow Chinese Student Society and Scholars Association.

Entry requirements
Undergraduate
The University accepts the H2 and Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced (GCE A Level). The university also welcomes the following qualifications: International Baccalaureate (IB) and the South Australian Matriculation Certificate. Entry requirements for Singapore GCE candidates are three A Levels at specific grades. H2 are considered equivalent to A Level on a subject for subject basis.
Students with AAB performance in A Levels/ IB may be also eligible for year 2 entry to a number of Engineering and Science degree programmes. Diploma-holders (completion of the 3 year polytechnic Diploma) may also be considered for entry (typically with entry to year 2 or 3 of a 4-year degree programme) on a case by case basis. Usually a grade average of at least a ‘B’ would be needed.
Postgraduate Taught
We will consider applications to Masters degrees from graduates of Singaporean universities with a good Honours degree (usually the equivalent of a second class upper or a grade point average minimum of 3.0).
Partnerships with Institutions in Singapore
The School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, now offers exciting in-country programmes in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) on the campus of Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) in Singapore. The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Design Engineering and BEng (Hons) Mechatronics are offered under a 3+2 model, managed by the UoG office at NP. Students from the Singapore Polytechnics progress onto the UoG programme to graduate with a BEng (Hons) from University of Glasgow. In 2011, the first two cohorts of students enrolled onto Mechanical Design Engineering and also Mechatronics. Programme provision, in Partnership with SIT under this model, may expand in the near future. For more information, check out www.glasgow.ac.uk/singapore
The University also works closely with Nanyang Technological University and we welcome applications from undergraduate students who wish to spend a semester/ year on study abroad at Glasgow.
