Principia Consortium Students
The site is for students intending to study at the University of Glasgow through the Principia Consortium. The Principia Consortium is made up of the following US Colleges/Universities – please check the list below to make sure your institution is part of this before proceeding.

All students on the Principia Consortium Study Abroad programme must complete between 60 and 80 Scotcat (Glasgow) credits whilst here. This can be made up of a wide range of classes – please see the Course Catalogue for a comprehensive list
Part of these credits must be made up by taking the special Honours course designed for Principia Consortium students - Scottish Enlightenment: Ideas and Influences, (This course is worth 20 Scotcat Credits)

How to apply
Contact either your home institution's Study Abroad Office or the Study Abroad Co-ordinator at the University of Glasgow to discuss the possibility of studying abroad.
- Browse the study abroad course catalogue for the courses available.
- Download the Principia Consortium Application Form A large print application form is available on request.
- Return the completed application form to the Study Abroad Co-ordinator at the University of Glasgow with a copy of your most recent academic transcript, two letters of reference and a personal statement.
- You application will be acknowledged by email.
- You will receive the initial decision on your application as soon as possible followed by additional information about your choice of classes, particularly any level 3 and 4 classes you wish to attend.

Accommodation
Applications for housing are made online. Once accepted to the programme, you will be emailed a reference number and instructions on making your application for accommodation online. Further guidance can be seen on our Residential Services website. We guarantee you a place in university accommodation so long as you apply as soon as possible after receiving your acceptance.
