I am a medical undergraduate and interested in studying abroad, how can I do this?
The School of Medicine at the University of Glasgow does not participate in the Study Abroad Programme. If you are interested in undertaking an elective please see the Medical School Website http://www.gla.ac.uk/faculties/medicine/mbchb/overseas_elective.html .
Does the University of Glasgow provide any scholarships for me to study abroad?
The University of Glasgow does not offer any scholarships to study abroad. To find out if there are any local initiatives or grants available to assist in your country, please visit the British Council Website for your area. http://www.britishcouncil.org/learning.htm
Applicants
I have submitted my application, when should I hear my decision?
We will acknowledge your application as soon as we receive it and aim to make a decision within a week or so at the very most. Please allow a week or two to get in touch if you have not heard anything since submitting your application as the delay may be due to International Post.
How do I arrange Accommodation?
Once accepted to the Study Abroad Programme, you will be sent a reference number by email to apply for accommodation using the online system. Please see our Residential Services website for further info.
I have been accepted to study abroad at the University of Glasgow, when should I arrive?
The latest date for arriving is specified in our course date page, dependant on the duration of your study with us. Please see Study abroad term dates. You will also receive details on your offer letter from us.
What should I do when I arrive?
Full Orientation details will be published on the Study Abroad Website once confirmed. In general, you should make your way to your accommodation, where you can collect keys and get settled in. You will have a welcome letter from the study abroad office, detailing your first meetings of orientation with directions.
Do I have to attend Orientation?
Yes, Orientation week is a valuable event for visiting students at the University of Glasgow. You will find out all you need to know about your academic career with us, together with other practical information and means of support available to you. It will also be an excellent opportunity for you to meet with your fellow International and local students. If you foresee any problems attending Orientation, please contact the Study Abroad Office.

I have lost my Student I.D. Card, what can I do?

I want to open a Bank Account and the Bank needs a Letter from the University. Where can I get this?
The Recruitment and International Office will provide this letter for you after you have completed an online bank letter. The request for the bank letter can be completed online: bank letter request form.
When will I receive my transcript?
You should receive your transcript in March or late July, dependent on when you complete your studies with us.
