Study Abroad and Exchange Programme

Study Abroad and Exchange Programme

Welcome to the Study Abroad and Exchange Programme, designed for visiting students who elect to come to the University of Glasgow, Scotland for a semester or year as part of their undergraduate degree programme.

International students can choose from over 900 courses from a range of schools. This flexibility ensures a broad academic experience and allows you to match your study abroad options with your degree course at home. Please visit our course catalogue for details of subjects on offer.

Please note:  Assessment for courses in COMPUTING SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS & STATISTICS takes place in April/May of the following year. Students coming to study for Semester 1 only should select alternative courses. This does not affect students coming to study for a full year.

BUTEX Scholarships

The University of Glasgow is pleased to let students know that each year BUTEX offers a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or a full academic year.  The scholarships are worth £500 each and will be paid to successful applicants once they have registered at their host University.  The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who have been offered a place at the University of Glasgow and who are not eligible for an Erasmus grant.  Please see the BUTEX website for further information -
