Deadlines

  • Semester 1 and Full year start programmes: 31 May (2013)
  • Semester 2 and summer start programmes: 31 Oct  (2013)

Orientation & Start of Classes

There will be a short orientation programme for semester 2 students starting on 3 January 2013. You are strongly advised to attend this programme, which provides important information and is an excellent introduction to the university and to Glasgow. During this period you will enrol in classes and, as needed, have contact with the relevant subject co-ordinator(s) and academic adviser. Upon registration you will be allocated an email address. Upon arrival in Glasgow you will be able to use our computing facilities and internet access. However, until you have fully registered and obtained your student card, you will not have access to the library or sports facilities.

Classes start on 7 January 2013. There is a strict two week add/drop period in which to change your enrolment.

Accommodation

Once accepted, you may apply for a place in university residences. Please note that availability is very limited; if you are coming for less than the full academic session (September through May) it is less likely you will be allocated a place. In this case, you will have to investigate the private sector for accommodation. There are links to help with this in the FAQ.

English Language

You must have a high level of English in order to study at The University of Glasgow. However, some students might benefit from the In-Sessional Courses (fee paying) offered by our Language Centre. (see also: FAQ)
