University of Glasgow
The objective of this event is to disseminate the findings of the University of Glasgow's Effective Records Management project. The project has focused on issues of managing those digital documents which form part of the administrative record of the university, particularly the documents created in the operation of the university's committees. All too often, such documents are created with insufficient consideration of their distribution, use, maintenance, storage and disposition.
The development of the day is intended to be progressive, beginning with an overview of various aspects of the problem, and moving on to the discussion of practical tools and techniques designed to address these questions, including how creators of documents have responded to changes in their working practices. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the approaches adopted.
