| The gluteal crease or fold is the horizontal groove which marks the lower limit of the buttock. The skin is firmly attached to the deep fascia by fibrous strands. The gluteal crease does not correspond to the lower border of the muscle gluteus maximus which actually crosses the fold obliquely. |
