The Print Room

The Print Room at the Hunterian Art Gallery is open to everyone, free of charge. Please contact us in advance of your visit so that staff can be available and material can be looked out from store for you.

Identification
First-time visitors should bring photographic proof of identity such as a passport or driving licence, and proof of current address such as a bank statement or utility bill. Students can show their matriculation card.

When you arrive at the Gallery, please report to the reception desk so that they can let staff know that you have arrived.

Print Room
The room is an artificially lit space which can take up to ten visitors. There is some access to power outlets for lap-tops. Most of our material is unique and irreplaceable, so please always use a pencil and follow the advice of gallery staff on handling the materials.

Online catalogue
You will find helpful information and images for much of the collection on our online database
www.huntsearch.gla.ac.uk. In requesting to view material, please cite the relevant GLAHA numbers.

However, we can supply high-resolution digital images of many items in our collection (at 300 dpi), that can be sent to you as jpegs via e-mail at a cost of £10.00 + VAT per image. If an artwork requires new photography there is an additional fee of £40.00 + VAT per image. Contact photolibrarian@glasgow.ac.uk.
