International Medical University (IMU): partner medical school

The University of Glasgow’s Faculty of Medicine is at the forefront of leading edge clinical interventions and discovery and is one of the largest in Europe.  Through our major research areas we are tackling Scotland’s biggest killers - cardiovascular disease and cancer.  The range of activity, beginning with fundamental research into genes and progressing to clinical trials, provides a ‘cell to cure’ approach focused on health improvement, disease prevention and cure as well as fundamental understanding.

We are leading the UK with one the most important innovations in the teaching of medicine - a unique modern undergraduate curriculum based on student-centred learning, individual learning contracts, and problem-based learning techniques, within a state of the art Medical School building.  Medical Students at the University of Glasgow also experience placements in a number of hospitals throughout the Glasgow area and beyond.

The aim of the course is to equip you with the personal attitudes, theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a career in clinical practice.  You will develop the ability and desire to undertake a lifelong process of self-evaluation, education and training.
