The forms listed here are available in both Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word Formats. Where possible, you are encouraged to complete forms in typescript and you should, therefore, aim to use the .doc versions.

Admission Guidelines

A summary of the admission regulations and annual review procedures for research candidates introduced in Session 2002-03 are outlined in the above document.

Applications (Approval of Title in Principle)

All candidates should complete the standard application form .The supplementary Graduate School 'Approval of Title in Principle' (Proforma one) document should be completed for all research degree candidates.

Annual Review (1st year students only)

Annual Report Proforma 2 - 2009-10

The second phase 'Approval of Project Proposal' (proforma two) above is completed by students normally after 6-9 months full time study or equivalent. A timetable is provided in the PGR Annual Reports link.

Interim Review (year 1)

Interim Report - 2009-10

A number of recently matriculated students will not be in a position to fulfill the requirements of the second phase 'Approval of Project Proposal' above. It is important that this interim report is submitted for any such students in order to permit re-matriculation.

Application to Submit Thesis

Intention to Submit Thesis Form

You need to inform the Graduate School of your intention to submit your thesis three months in advance by submitting the above form. This will prompt the identification and appointment of your examiners. If you fail to submit within three months, you will be charged a late fee!

Annual Course Monitoring Reports

Annual Course Monitoring Report Form - 2007-08

Annual Course Monitoring Reports should be completed for all postgraduate taught courses and submitted by end November in the following semester.

Staff Fees

The policy on 'Tuition Fees for Members of Staff' is available from the Human Resources web site, together with a standard application form.

Bench Fee Computation Form

Bench Fee Computation Form (.doc)

A bench fee may be levied at the time of admission to reflect the actual costs of research projects when it is thought that the usual fees/research grants do not cover these. The Bench Fee Computation Form should list all relevant costs within the calculation.
