Welcome to the Graduate School

The Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences (FBLS) is the focus of an outstanding multi-disciplinary environment for postgraduate training and research. Information about the Faculty's research can be obtained by following the links (shown on the right) to the Research Themes. There are nearly 300 postgraduate students working for PhD, MSc and MRes degrees. Many of our students are from countries outside the UK. We currently have students from over 40 countries studying for higher degrees within the Faculty.

Study for a higher degree within the Faculty is co-ordinated by the Graduate School which is committed to ensuring that our postgraduate students receive the highest standards of training.

In addition to assuming the overall responsibility for recruitment and monitoring students' progress, the Graduate School runs a core training programme in basic research and transferable skills.
