CPD and PPD

CPD (continuing professional development) and PPD (personal professional development) includes conferences, seminars, very short courses and year-long credit-rated award bearing courses such as MScs and other PGT courses. The SFC definition of CPD/PPD is an activity that is:

  • self-financing
  • developmental
  • vocationally relevant

How to apply

Advice on costing can be obtained from Isobel Digges in the FBLS Research Office. You should complete a Costing and Approval form taking into account all costs involved in running the course. This will include for example: costs for time of all categories of staff involved, all consumables and course materials, hire of venue, catering, contributions towards use of equipment, etc.

The Faculty's CPD/PPD Officer is Professor Alan Taylor. Completed forms should be forwarded to Isobel Digges for signature.
