The next seminar in the Theory and Method series offers an opportunity for knowledge exchange with a leading public funder in Scotland who will outline how his agency identifies areas for research and utilises the findings. Prof Mark Olssen will talk about the effects of neoliberal restructuring on higher education.

Evaluating Accomplished Teaching seminar and panel discussion
The seminar will start with a presentation from Professor David Egan who will reports key findings from an independent evaluation of the pilot of the Chartered Teacher programme in Wales, which commenced in September 2007. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion.

Evaluating Accomplished Teaching - Advanced Certification in the UK
Professor Egan will outline the approach to recognising "accomplished teaching" in Wales. The seminar will draw on perspectives from Scotland and Wales to consider different approaches to the development of integrated CPD frameworks across the UK. 3 Mar 2010, 2-4pm.

Two children's responses to books, from birth to three presented by Dr Virginia Lowe who will be visiting the Faculty from Australia next week. It should be of particular interest to anyone working with child development, language, literacy, creativity, visual literacy and children's literature.
Graduate School International Lunch
Staff and students joined together to share in food and conversation at an International Lunch which took place in the newly furbished graduate study space. The lunch was hosted by the students who cooked delicious food from their home country.
