Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education at the University of Glasgow is an exciting and stimulating place to study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. New degree programmes include: BEd Honours in Primary Education; the MA in Primary Education offered on the Dumfries campus; the BA in Childhood Practice; and the PGDE one-year programme for primary and secondary education which offers 90 Masters-level credits. It has a robust, active and expanding research portfolio with international expertise in the areas of Adult and Lifelong Learning, Science Education, Teacher Education, Religion and Education, Social Justice and Globalisation and Education among others.

- HM Inspector of Education appointed as Honorary Professor
Her Majesty’s Senior Chief Inspector of Education in Scotland, Graham Donaldson, is to take up a new role at the University of Glasgow as an Honorary Professor. -
Graduate students meet the Scottish Cabinet Secretary
Graduate students from the Faculty of Education had the opportunity to meet Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Fiona Hyslop, at a recent Leadership for Learning Conference hosted by the Faculty. - Faculty Graduates shortlisted for Probationary Teacher of the Year
Alasdair Tierney, graduate of the MA Religious and Philosophical Education and Lorraine Pollock, graduate of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, have both been shortlisted for Probationary Teacher of the Year 2009. - Post Graduate Award Ceremony
Monday 22nd saw over 400 students, from the Faculty of Education, receive their PGDE awards in front of family, friends and staff.
Former Blue Peter Presenter Graduates
The former children’s television presenter and actress, Romana D'Annunzio, graduated with a PGDE certificate in Secondary School Teaching.- Kelvin/Smith Scholarship - New Applications Invited
The Kelvin/Smith scholarship on the subject of Measuring the impact of events on the cultural capital of socially excluded groups is still available - deadline now 14th August.
