Key facts

  • Language of teaching is primarily Spanish. Some courses available in English, please check the academic offering on the webpages ('Oferta de Estudios') 
  • Calendar: first semester starts in February and ends in July. Second semester starts in August and ends in November
  • Grading system: marks are allocated on a scale of 1-10, with everything above 4 being a pass
  • Entry Requirements: once coordinators nominate students by e-mail, students will have to complete the on-line application form with supporting material including a valid passport, medical form, copy of academic transcript, Spanish Level Report (intermediate level is required). This form must be completed and signed by the student and the Spanish professor from your institution
  • Tentative list of courses: International students must take a minimum of 5 classes at USAL to fulfil our requirements
  • Credit guidance: credit range per semester = 12-20
  • USAL does not have on-campus accommodation but offers guidance on finding a room
