University of Mannheim, Germany

The Universität Mannheim (University of Mannheim) is s often ranked in the top 100 universities worldwide and located in the former Mannheim palace in the city centre. It was founded in 1967 and now has a student population of 12,500 and is a member of the German Universities Excellence Initiative.

Mannheim is located in the centre-south of Germany and has a population of 295,000 inhabitants. Mannheim is unusual among German cities for its grid-like urban design, that gained it the nickname 'Quadratestadt' (city of squares). Mannheim was voted by Forbes magazine 11th most inventive cities in the world. On the surface an industrial city, Mannheim boasts an energetic cultural scene of live music and It holds the title of UNESCO 'City of Music'.
