University of Bonn, Germany

The Universität Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn) is one of the leading universities in Germany. Among its notable alumni and faculty are seven Nobel laureates, three Fields medallists, twelve Leibniz Prize winners, Pope Benedict XVI, Karl Marx, Heinrich Heine and Friedrich Nietzsche.

Bonn is a city of 310,000 people in western Germany. During the division of Germany, Bonn served as the German capital instead of Berlin. It shares the seat of government and hosts 19 United Nations institutions. The city boasts a range of high-quality museums and is close to the Seven Mountains hill range and the Rhine Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
