Leiden University (Universiteit Leiden) is the oldest university in the Netherlands and was founded by William of Orange, and numerous members of the Dutch royal family have studied there.

The university has an outstanding international reputation and offers a wide variety of courses. Leiden is a university city and located in South Holland, 12 miles from The Hague and 25 miles from Amsterdam.
