Boston College (BC) is a private Jesuit Catholic research university located in the village of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts 9.7 km west of downtown Boston. Boston College, the first institution of higher education to operate in the city of Boston, is today among the nation’s foremost universities, a leader in the liberal arts, scientific inquiry and student formation. It is a member of the 568 Group and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Its main campus is a historic district and features some of the earliest examples of collegiate gothic architecture in North America.

Boston is the capital and largest city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. Its academic institutions are a source of innovative art, architecture and ideas.

  • Course restrictions: you should not expect to take only business courses during your time at BC, nor can you take a full courseload in one subject (for example, 5 Finance courses would not be permitted). All exchange students are expected to enroll in a wide variety of courses, and this includes enrolling in at least 2 courses in the College of Arts and Sciences (even if admitted to the Carroll School of Management).

  • USA Immigration: protocol states that students applying to a US partner usually in March/April must provide evidence that they have sufficient funds to cover all expenses while in the United States.
