Studying Music at Glasgow

Glasgow offers a range of options for those who wish to study music as an academic subject:

 

  • The Department of Adult & Continuing Education (DACE) run a number of stand alone modules and study days which are ideal for those with a casual interest in the subject.  Subjects covered include Popular Music, Opera, Music Theory and practical courses on keyboard, guitar and choral singing.

  • The School of Culture and Creative Arts offers a full range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music with particular focuses on performance, composition, historical musicology and the sonic arts.

  • The Centre for Music Technology offers research degrees at postgraduate level in Music Technology and related fields.

  • The School of Education in association with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland offers an undergraduate BEd in Music designed for those wishing to become music teachers.
