The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) represents more than 200 associations which provide homes for over 250,000 people.

The housing association trade body is owned by its membership and actively lobbies both Holyrood and Westminster on behalf of the sector. It is currently campaigning for greater investment to build 10,000 new affordable homes to rent in Scotland in 2009/10.

Our Policy & Strategy Directorate counsels members on the implications of housing legislation and government policy as well as advising on good practice. Their expertise is also called upon at seminars and working groups. And SFHA chair, Brian Gegan, is also a member of the Scottish Government’s Housing Supply Task Force.
Influential, high calibre speakers are also booked to address numerous popular conferences organised throughout the year by the SFHA’s successful Events team. And our training experts also offer courses on all aspects of the sector.

The Housing Scotland Media Team also produces the well read Housing Scotland magazine, the successful Housing Scotland Today enewsletter and innovative Housing Scotland TV.
