Cycle Glasgow 2009, Sunday 16 August

What is Cycle Glasgow?

Group shot of cyclists

The University of Glasgow is organising its 7th sponsored cycle, continuing to raise essential funds for the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre, Glasgow.

To date, with your support, we have raised more than £245,000 through our sponsored cycles.  This money was integral for opening the facilities and providing the essential infrastructure and equipment needed to run the centre.

Our plans for expansion over 2009/10 include two new research groups with one focusing solely on childhood leukaemia.  Over the last 12 months we have been successful in research funding applications but with an ever decreasing budget related to the knock on effects of the credit crunch your money is still essential.

For this reason we would ask all our supporters to continue to find the motivation to support Cycle Glasgow 2009.

The Course

As in previous years, the route will start and finish in Kelvingrove Park by Kelvin Way.

Cyclists head to Clydebank on the Kelvin Walkway and return via the Cycle Path on the Forth and Clyde Canal.  All cyclists have the option to cover 13 or 26 miles.

A map of the route is available for download on the right hand side.
