Werner G. Jeanrond gained his Master's degree with distinction from the University of Saarbrücken in 1979, and as a Fulbright scholar, his PhD with distinction from the University of Chicago Divinity School in 1984. He was lecturer, senior lecturer, and Head of School at Trinity College Dublin between 1981 and 1994. Between 1995-2007, he was Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Lund, Sweden.

His achievements and honours include:

Teaching Areas

Teaching interests include systematic theology, christology, ecclesiology, political theology, theology of love, hermeneutics, and ethics.

Research interests

Philosophical and theological hermeneutics; theological method; the concept of God; ecclesiology; political theology; the theology of love.

Areas of postgraduate supervision

Werner G. Jeanrond welcomes research applications in systematic theology, hermeneutics, and political theology.
