Lloyd Ridgeon has been successful (in a team of 3 other British academics) in securing a £15,000 award from BASIS (Board for [British] Academy Sponsored Institutes and Societies).

The money is to be spent on two workshops and one conference on the theme of modern Shi'ism and Identity.

The workshops will take place at Exeter and St. Andrews universities, while the large conference will be held at Glasgow University in the spring of 2008.
