Centre for advanced studies in Christian ministry
Introduction
The Centre exists to promote research into Christian ministry and to encourage academic debate concerning the changing nature of ministry in the contemporary context. Whilst a clear commitment is given to exploring the work of ministers and priests in parochial settings, ministry is no longer understood as the professional concern of the clergy alone. The Centre encourages research into ministerial practice in the many forms it is encountered today.
The Centre shares in the training of students for ministry, and programmes of study can be devised which are appropriate to particular requirements. We are also glad to welcome part time students who remain active in ministry throughout their period of study.
Aims of the Centre
To encourage research and academic debate into the changing nature of Christian ministry
To support training for ministry through the provision of appropriate courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
To work in partnership with local religious and community groups
To promote the development of reflection upon Christian ministry in the contemporary context
To produce regular publications containing new research into Christian ministry.
