Welcome to the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Applied Social Sciences.  We are a multi-disciplinary department offering a unique combination of degrees taught by research-active staff.

We are recognised internationally for our teaching and research activities.  The Guardian University Guide ranks Glasgow University as one of the top universities to study Sociology in the UK.

Our degree programmes provide an exciting range of opportunities for students from across the UK and abroad.  We currently enroll around 730 students on our undergraduate courses, and around 70 postgraduates on our various taught and research degrees.

Employability website

Employability is about much more than simply getting a job after you finish your studies.  It is about your achievements, understanding and personal attributes - the things that make you successful in whatever you chose to do during, and after, your time at University.

The Law Business and Social Sciences web pages have been designed to help our students get the most out of their time at the University and get the best possible head-start after graduation.
