Postgraduate Funding

The Department of Scottish Literature has a good record of successful funding applications and we currently supervise a number of students who have been granted Faculty scholarships and postgraduate awards.

In the past 5 years, 4 students from the Department of Scottish Literature have been awarded prestigious Caledonian PhD scholarships from the Carnegie Trust which awards only 15 scholarships annually across all disciplines.

A number of students are currently in receipt of Research Preparation Masters and Doctoral awards from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

One of our current doctoral students holds an Overseas Research Scholarship (ORS) from the University of Glasgow and there are other funding opportunities for international students wishing to study with us here at the Department of Scottish Literature.

Further information about applying for postgraduate funding can be found in the Graduate School Funding webpages.
