Taught Masters Degrees
The School of Law offers a taught Masters degree under one of fours distinct programmes: the Masters of Laws (LLM); the Master of Science (MSc); the Masters of Research in Law (MRes); and the Masters in Medical Law (MML).
The Master of Laws (LLM)
The Master of Laws (LLM) is taken by way of one year full-time, or two years part-time study. Courses are taught in small groups by subject specialists, many of whom are internationally recognised.

The Master of Science (MSc)
The degree of Master of Science (MSc) is offered under one of several distinct inter-disciplinary programmes. In each programme the School of Law is in partnership with one or more other university departments.

The Masters in Research in Law (MRes)
The Master in Research in Law (MRes) offers an advanced introduction to the study of law and a preparation for doctoral study in law. It serves both as a qualification in its own right as well as providing a platform for those who wish to go on to study for a PhD.
The Masters in Medical Law (distance learning)
This is a postgraduate, post-experience programme, focused on contemporary medico-legal issues. Students engage with topical and frequently controversial issues in medical law and ethics. The programme comprises two years’ study with distance learning supplemented by attendance at two residential weekends in Glasgow each year.
