I am Senior Lecturer, Director of Postgraduate Studies, and Director of the Centre for
the Study of Perceptual Experience. I am also co-director of CenSes: Centre for the Study of the Senses at the Institute of Philosophy in London. I am a member of the New York Institute of Philosophy's Project on the Nature of Taste. I was
a research fellow at the Centre for Consciousness in the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University for the academic
year 2005-2006 and in the Spring of 2008 and 2009.
I work on philosophy of mind, psychology
and perception. I have written about representational theories of
phenomenal character, the metaphysics of mind, disjunctivism, novel colours, inverted spectra, ambiguous and impossible figures, illusions and hallucinations, synaesthesia,
introspection, cognitive penetration, and the senses.
My book, Disjunctivism: Perception, Action, Knowledge, edited with Adrian Haddock has recently been published by Oxford University Press.
