Nanotech for biomedicine at the University of Glasgow
Nanomedicine is defined as "the application of nanotechnology to achieve breakthroughs in healthcare. It exploits the improved and often novel physical, chemical and biological properties of materials at the nanometer scale. Nanomedicine has the potential to enable early detection and prevention, and to essentially improve diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of diseases." - Nanotechnology for Health, European Technology Platform, Strategic Research Agenda for Nanomedicine, November 2006.
The University of Glasgow’s capability in Physical Sciences & Engineering Nanotechnologies together with the strengths in Clinical Medicine, Biomedical and Life Sciences and Veterinary Medicine places us in a position to deliver exciting new Nanomedical technologies.
