Molecular Genetics

MG home pageThe University of Glasgow has a longstanding reputation as a centre for world-class research in genetics. Our Molecular Genetics research theme aims to understand how inherited DNA variation in individuals, populations and species is generated and maintained, and what the phenotypic consequences of DNA variation are. Our research ranges from molecules and cells, to whole organisms and populations, and covers molecular evolution, recombination and transposition, cell cycle regulation, behavioural genetics, inherited human disease and normal variation, and animal models of inherited and acquired human disease.

The Molecular Genetics Research Theme is headed by Professor Darren Monckton.
