Events

Our group holds bi-weekly research seminars on Tuesdays and weekly social group meetings on Fridays.

Conferences and workshops

We are part of the UK-wide network "Classical and Quantum Integrability", funded by the London Mathematical Society. The network organizes four annual workshops, one at each of its nodes: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds and Loughborough.

Every four years our group organises a conference, under the acronym ISLAND, concentrating on one or more aspects of integrable systems. The last meeting was ISLAND III in July 2007.

From 30 March to 3 April 2009 our group will host a satellite conference "Geometric Aspects of Discrete and Ultra-Discrete Integrable Systems" of the Isaac Newton Institute Programme "Discrete Integrable Systems".

Research Cooperation Award with the University of Tokyo

Our group won recently a grant under the Strategic Alliances and Partnerships - Prime Minister's Initiative 2 strand of the British Council. This grant will support mutual visits of researchers and postgraduate students between our research group and the Graduate School for Mathematical Science, The University of Tokyo.

Our Japanese partners are Profs M Jimbo, T Tokihiro, J Shiraishi and R Willox.

Project title: "Discrete integrable systems and the crystal limit of quantum integrable models".

Visitor Programme in 2006

From May to June 2006 the group ran a programme for international visitors. Details of the participants can be found here.
