Teaching interests: Youth labour markets and changing employment relationships, training, and interfaces between education and labour markets. Unemployment and casualised employment.
Research Projects:
Projects since 2001 include a study of young people not in employment, education and training (NEET) in the UK and Japan (GB Sasakawa Foundation); the labour market experiences of graduates from disadvantaged families (Joseph Rowntree Foundation); overcoming the impact of long-term unemployment (Joseph Rowntree Foundation); socioeconomic disadvantage and experience in further and higher education (Joseph Rowntree Foundation); Reconceptualising youth transitions (Scottish Executive).
