Integrative and Systems Biology
The Integrative and Systems Biology Research Theme is headed by Professor Julian Dow and is one of the largest groupings of academic staff in the Faculty. The Research Theme draws together scientists with the broadest range of scientific backgrounds, but united by an integrative approach (moving from gene to organism and beyond). This philosophy, together with skills in functional biology, transgenics, functional genomics and imaging, and the Faculty's outstanding infrastructure for post-genomic research, allows us to embrace the opportunities offered by systems biology.
Our research spans a very broad range, but with a common philosophy.
- Exercise and sports science
- Cardiovascular science
- Drosophila integrative physiology
- Functional genomics
- Systems biology
- Human anatomy
