Welcome

The new Interdisciplinary Centre for Research and Teaching in STEM Education is based in the Faculty of Education. The focus of the Centre is to undertake and promote interdisciplinary research and the development of evidence-based practice in STEM (Sciences, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics) Education. The Centre represents an exciting opportunity to build upon and co-ordinate the University's existing international reputation in the fields of the contributing disciplines, as well as establishing a new international reputation for research and teaching in STEM Education.

University launches new Centre for Research and Teaching in STEM Education

STEM Launch Group ShotThere were sunny faces all around  as BBC Meteorologist Heather Reid officially launched the University’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Research and Teaching in STEM Education. The launch took place in the Gallery of the St Andrew Building on the 13th of March, surrounded by the captivating images of the ‘Chips with Flair’exhibition.

The new Centre is based in the Faculty of Education and has been created to undertake and promote interdisciplinary research and the development of evidence-based practice in STEM (Sciences, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics) Education. The STEM Centre has particular expertise in developing novel and creative methods of engaging young people and teachers in new technologies and current scientific research, especially in areas of multi-disciplinary education.
