Internal Co-operation and Enterprising People
Sheraton Colony Square Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia, United States - June, 1999
The third biennial IACSEE conference was held at the Sheraton Colony Square Hotel during June, 1999 in Georgia's state capital, Atlanta, in the USA. The theme of the conference was 'Internal Co-operation and Enterprising People', which gave the scope for a wide variety of discussions. Amongst the topics covered were: Enterprising People: Born or Created?; Citizenship Education in Europe; Global Community, Global Citizenship; Entrepreneurship Education in Japan; Experiencing an Economy in the Elementary Classroom.
Prof. Mark C. Schug, , the Association's former Corresponding Member for the USA, said: "What has impressed me about the meeting is that, although delegates share common concerns about curriculum provision for social and economics education, this event attracts colleagues with so many different perspectives. It brings word-class people together and the size of the meeting, the shape and pace of the programme allows them time to interact and translate the issues into classroom practice."
IACSEE is grateful for the help and support of BT and the Georgia Council on Economic Education.
