Research

Within the University, the section acts as a central focus for research in the field of Human Nutrition. The scale and size of the university and the degree of collaboration between science, medicine-based and other departments, means that virtually any aspect of Human Nutrition can be researched efficiently.

Human Nutrition has 3 main laboratory sites: GRI (mainly adult medicine, facilities shared with other University and clinical depts: Yorkhill (mainly infant and children and shared with Child Health and other Yorkhill depts) and Gilmorehill campus Stevenson Laboratory (Plant Products and Human Nutrition Research Group shared with Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

The special demands of nutrition research are met by experienced multi-disciplinary teams including academic and clinical staff, dietitians, nurses, technicians and field staff.
