Biography

Gary McLean joined the Section of General Practice & Primary Care in August 2003 as a research fellow on the Platform Project and is currently working on an SDO-funded project entitled “The new GMS contract in primary care: the impact of governance and incentives on care” and a project examining differences in prescribing costs in NHS Lanarkshire.

Prior to this, Gary completed his PhD at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University, exploring the role of the business and voluntary community sectors in the EU-funded Objective 1 Programme for South Yorkshire. He also worked on a number of research projects, including an evaluation of the Business in the Community Partnership for South Yorkshire and a mapping of help for Small Medium Enterprise in Yorkshire.
