Biography

Fiona Turner joined the Section of General Practice & Primary Care in August 2007 as a research fellow on the national evaluation of Keep Well. Prior to this, she was a research fellow at University of Stirling on the national evaluation of Nurse Prescribing and a project looking at functional outcome and quality of life following liver transplant. She has also worked as a welfare officer for Strathclyde Police.

She graduated from Queen Margaret University with an MSc with distinction in Health Psychology (2003) and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Sociology and Social Policy (1998). During her MSc, she concentrated on her research interests in the area of diabetes and is currently working towards her Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology. For her thesis, she has explored a community arts intervention for mental health using IPA, and has also undertaken a systematic review of the psychometric properties of motivational interviewing skill measures.

Fiona also teaches a module in health psychology and diabetes.
