Established in 1974 and one of the oldest university departments of general practice, General Practice and Primary Care is part of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing. Our aim is to inform decisions made in and about general practice and primary care, based on evidence, experience and values, and working via programmes of primary care research, postgraduate development and undergraduate medical education.
We have a generalist approach with a range of clinical, academic and research interests.
Head of General Practice and Primary Care is Professor Frances Mair.
