BA Childhood Practice

Issued: Thu, 14 Aug 2008 09:50:00 BST

A new programme has been approved to be delivered within the Faculty, commencing academic session 2008-2009. The BA Childhood Practice has been developed to enable students with experience of working in the field of childhood practice to meet the requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice (QAA, 2007).

The requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice are based on a vision of the manager/lead practitioner in the early years and childcare service who, having demonstrated the competences/learning outcomes defined, will:

  • lead and support the provision of high quality and flexible early years and childcare services
  • work in partnership with families and communities and
  • collaborate with other agencies and other children's services.

Kevin Kelman from the Department of Educational Studies is the Programme Leader and Joanne McFadden, again from Educational Studies, is the Programme Administrator.
