Course Aims

To introduce students to 20th century Gaelic dialectology and its historical background.

Class will meet twice weekly for ten weeks

Assessment

The mark for this module will be determined on the basis of: 40% from two written essays submitted in weeks 3 and 7 (topics to be assigned); 40% from four written commentaries on dialect maps, to be submitted fortnightly; 20% from a commentary on a map, written as an overnight take-away paper in week 9.
