In the recently published Guardian University Guide for 2013, two Social Sciences subject areas received excellent results.

Law at Glasgow was rated 1st in the UK in the category 'career after six months'. This score is the percentage of graduates who find graduate-level jobs, or are studying further, within six months of graduation. This excellent result confirms the School's commitment to offer programmes which respond to current global issues, and to ensure that our graduates are prepared for a competitive employment market. Law has been taught at the University of Glasgow for over 500 years, and today the School of Law is recognised as one of the very best in Europe.

Sociology at Glasgow was rated 1st in Scotland and 2nd across the UK as a whole. Notably, Sociology at Glasgow was awarded 10/10 in the score which compares students' individual degree results with their entry qualifications, and therefore measures the effectiveness of teaching in a particular subject. This result confirms Glasgow as among the very best places to study Sociology in the country.
