Educational development often focuses on the surface; the policies which drive change, the curriculum, the practice of pedagogy. This seminar will delve underneath, considering the very words and ideas that shape what we do, even though we may not be aware of it. Metaphors, dead and alive, both support and constrain how we think and consequently how education evolves. The session will explore the implications of the language of 21st century education.
