Visa Applications

If you wish to make an application for a Tier 4 (General) Student Visa from inside or outside the UK you must obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). This is a unique online reference number issued to you by the University as your Tier 4 Licensed Sponsor.

CAS Requests for Visa Extensions

Important change in procedure - All CAS requests for a visa extension must be approved by an academic member of staff.

If your current tier 4 student visa is due to expire, please submit your CAS request form to -
Linda Thomson in the COSS, Student Support Office, Room 107, Florentine House, 53 Hillhead Street.

Download a copy of the CAS Request Form‎ ‎form and submit to one of the following  members of staff for approval - (Please supply all relevant supporting documents along with the completed visa extension form):

UG Student - advisor of studies

PGT Student - programme coordinator

PGR Student -  supervisor

Please allow 10 working days from the date of application for the issue of your CAS number.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you need an extension to a visa which expires in January 2013 the deadline for submission of your CAS request form is 30th November 2012
