College International Student Learning Officer

Gayle LisbonDr Gayle Pringle Barnes is the College International Student Learning Officer for the College of Social Sciences.

Gayle runs a series of classes for international postgraduate students in Social Sciences on topics such as assignment and dissertation writing and effective reading.

Core Academic Skills

Core Academic Skills classes are open to all taught postgraduate students in the College of Social Sciences.

Topics include:

  • Assignment Writing: Structure and Style
  • Reading Effectively, Reading Critically
  • Using Sources: Critical Analysis and Academic Integrity
  • Lectures, Listening and Notemaking (some subject areas)
  • Exam Preparation and Writing (some subject areas)
