Whatever stage you are at  - from day one of your course, to 2 years after graduation - and whatever your query - from considering your career options, to looking for work experience and applying for jobs and/or postgraduate study - the University of  Glasgow Careers Service is here to help you.  The Careers Service is based in Student Services on level 2 of the Fraser Building.

Meet with a Careers Adviser

To make an appointment with a Careers Adviser, call 0141 330 7000 or book in person at the Student Enquiry Desk, Level 2, The Fraser Building.  Quick Coaching (15-minute appointments) are also available between 12 pm and 2 pm each day, bookable on-line at www.gla.ac.uk/careers from 7.30 am on the day required - ideal for a CV/application form check.  If you've been invited to an interview by an employer,  you can book a Mock Interview with a Careers Adviser. Find out how to make the most of your meeting with a Careers Adviser here... 

Career Planning

You may have a clear idea of what you want to do after graduation.  Alternatively, you might feel you have no idea where you are heading!  At the Careers Service we're here to help you find a career that will match your abilities and aspirations.  With over 60% of graduate jobs open to any discipline, your options are many and varied...Find out more about effective career planning, including the online guidance tools Prospects Planner and Careers Report, here... 

Careers Events

The Careers Service organises a range of events throughout the year to help you find out about different careers and opportunities.  These range from the Scottish Graduate Fairs in spring and autumn each year, to the Internship Fair in the Hunter Halls in late October and the 'Q& A: Media' day, held in March.  Work Experience, Internships and Graduate Jobs

Registering on-line with the Careers Service will give you immediate access to a wide range of paid and voluntary opportunities.  Graduate Prospects and Targetjobs are also excellent web sites offering great advice and opportunities for students and graduates.  Club 21, the University of Glasgow's undergraduate placement scheme, offers a range of high quality work placements to students each year and the Careers Service web-site advertises a wide range of work experience opportunities - in the UK and abroad.
